THE PROCESS OF THE "RITES OF PASSAGE" & AWARDS PROGRAM

Our Purpose:

What is the purpose of this program?
This program is designed to motivate and support youths, K-12 who have Individual Educational Plans (IEPs, to achieve their "BenchMark Goals" of their IEP and to enhance parents/guardians in their child's IEP. The program accomplishes this goal through the activities listed below

Orientation:

At the start of the academic year, we have orientations for all of those concern people in the "village". We hold two orientation session for the professional staff involed. There are also two orientations for parents/guardians and their youths.

Orientation is a mandatory part of the program. All that is required is that you attend one orientation session each academic year.

As with any "village' there always change, new developments and hopefully growth. Attending these orientation is where these changes are shared and discussed. So please make note of these notices when you receive them.

For orientation sessions times & updates go to our "Orientations & IEP Workshop" page.

Incentives:

Incentives are generated thru the Progress Reports that we received at the end of each marking paeriod. Upon a youth completing either "Steps to a Benchmark Goal" or a "Benchmark Goal", indicated on the Progress Report, the youth receive an incentive. The incentives are presented in their classrooms, so that peer recognition can be given. Incentives may also be given at one of our after school activies as well.
We offer various after school activies to promote parent/guardian bonding with their youth.
